Walker Lecture documentary – The Community Players
The Walker Lecture Series will be presenting the documentary
The Players; The 95-Year History of the Community Players of Concord NH.
Produced by ConcordTV, the project was created over the last year with support from NH Humanities. The Community Players provided ConcordTV full access to an extensive archive of stage photographs, vintage programs, theatre posters and related documents dating back to their founding. Additional photos made available by Concord Public Library, Friends of the Concord City Auditorium and local collectors are included in the film. ConcordTV states that the documentary “tells the story of a little theatre that grew up in hard times, learned from the pros, found a home, and became a resource for a growing arts community.” The screening and talkback will take place in Concord City Auditorium, where the Community Players produced their first play in 1927.
Admission is free. Doors open at 7:00 pm. For information, call 603-333-0035 or walkerlecture.org.
