On Sunday, February 2nd at 2:00 pm, The Concord Community Concert Association presents “Dartmouth Aires”. The Dartmouth Aires is one of the nation’s eminent a cappella ensembles. They have been singing live, producing albums, and touring the world since their founding in 1946. Their repertoire features a wide mix of contemporary favorites, traditional Ivy League tunes, sketch comedy, and the occasional piece of opera, performed with a panache guaranteed to please all ages. On February 14th & 15th at 7:30 pm and February 16th at 2:00 pm, The Community Players of Concord present” Ken Ludwig’s “The Gods of Comedy”. When she gets into a jam, a young Classics professor calls on the Ancient Greek Gods for help – and they actually show up! The Ivy League will never be the same as a pair of screwball deities encounters the carnal complexity of college coeds, campus capers, and conspicuous consumption.

On Friday, February 28th at 6:30 pm, The Community Players Children’s Theatre Project’s Winter Vacation Theatre Camp presents “The Story of Hansel and Gretel”. A comical musical retelling of the Brothers Grimm classic tale of two lost children, a gingerbread house and a witch, but with some twists. The witch loves to bake; she has two bumbling hobgoblin “assistants”, and the forest around her house is full of fanciful creatures, including a talking owl! This one hour show is fun for all ages! On Wednesday, March 19th at 7:30 pm, The Walker Lecture presents: Before They Could Speak: Laurel & Hardy in the Silent Film Era with Jeff Rapsis. See Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy as they got their start during the silent film era, prior to their transition to talkies. We will learn about this comedy duo and watch ‘Two Tars’ (1928), “The Finishing Touch’ (1928), ‘Soup to Nuts’ (1928) and ‘You’re Darn Tootin’ (1928). On Sunday, July 14th at 6:00 pm, The Friends of the Concord City Auditorium will hold their Annual Meeting. It begins at 6:00 pm with a potluck supper. Bring a salad, main dish or dessert to share. The Audi will provide the famous Audi punch. Following the supper, we will hold the Annual Meeting. Topics to include, a treasury report, committee reports, plans for the Annual Gala etc. The meeting will conclude with the announcement of the 2024 Pineapple award and The Friend of the Year.
